Cylindrical-cell nickel connector laser cutter

Fixture-based laser processing of cylindrical-cell nickel connections ahead of cell separation.

Positioning and laser cutting

The machine combines a positioning platform, dedicated fixtures, laser processing and controls. Cell arrangement, nickel-strip shape and connection positions determine the toolpath for separating the required connections.

After positioning, parameters are set for nickel thickness, material and target cut locations. Controls coordinate processing and status monitoring. Cutting results and effects on cell ends require trials with the corresponding feedstock.

Accuracy, changeover and maintenance

A reference accuracy figure of 0.1 mm is specified. The measured feature, accuracy definition, machining conditions and acceptance method must be confirmed for the model. Machining accuracy, positioning requirements and kerf requirements are specified separately during selection.

Different cell and nickel-sheet structures require matched clamping, positioning and machining settings. Feeding, workpiece changes, equipment protection and maintenance access are arranged for the selected configuration and adjacent stations.
